Nate Stewart commented on 28th Day of Riding

Curious coincidence! A thoughtful friend once gifted me some Bigfoot socks. (The socks are sized for human feet)

We have Warrington Colescott's "Family Night at Fred's Pleasure Club" print on a wall at our home and plan to visit someday.

Seaside is an interesting place, New Urbanism design, The Truman Show was filmed there and the sand squeaks. Grayton Beach had a happy hour, a buck a shuck for the oysters at Hurricane Bar and Grill.

Fred's on a Saturday is a spot not to be missed. No better place to experience Cajun country.

Brian,
Not sure if you're aware of it, but Rohloff makes a chain tensioner. It's a little pricey but works great. I use it on both my tandem and single bikes. As an added feature, it allows me to run a compact (50x39) crankset up front. If you REALLY want to gear down, put a 16 tooth sprocket on the hub, switch to the small chainring up front, and shift the hub into 1st gear - a cadence of 80 will result in a speed of about 3MPH (but hey, you can climb a wall!).

Kelly Iniguez commented on Helmet Brims

I wear a Salamander brand snowboarding helmet visor on my helmet. It has withstood many a downhill pass here in Colorado. I never take it off. But, it is not a brim, just a visor.

I saw many DaBrims in Tucson this winter. They are great in the sun.

Seems like more trouble than it's worth to peel and eat those tiny crawfish!

Amazes me that you still bike many miles on your layover days. I know it's only a fraction of your normal daily ride, but I would think you'd relish your "no butt in seat" time!
