Here in my hand are the goathead thorns I removed from the front tire of my bicycle this morning. I used tweezers to remove more spikes that I couldn't get with my fingers.  The spikes can penetrate bike tires all the way to the inner tube. Some of our riders have had 3 flats in 1 day. Fortunately, thanks to my special tires, I still have had no flats, even from these goatheads I just removed.
