I'm enjoying your wonderful trip! And I so agree, shorter distances (if you have the time) and stopping at small out-of-the-way places is so rewarding! Sort of 'less is more'.
Happy cycling for the rest of your trip!

I don’t know if you’ve planned any of your Corsican itinerary yet, but hopefully you’re planning on the loop of Cape Corse. Highly recommended. It could be done in a day of course, but we stayed over at the northern tip in Maccinagio.

We are sitting in bed on a rainy Thanksgiving in North Vancouver living vicariously through your amazing trip! (and, no, it's not sunny in PR)... Stunning photography, cycling terrain, and weather! Keep up the great posts

Could be, alright. We rode this to the airport early one morning in July, years ago. At 5 in the morning it was already a lively scene and a volleyball game was underway on the beach.

Wonderful journal! Sounds like your Scott is like my Scott about misplacing things. Hopefully he’s not as bad. Have a wonderful trip.

Sorry you missed a real dinner. We did a cycle tour in New Zealand 27 years ago and had a day with torrential rains and stopped at a hotel about 1 pm. Unfortunately, there was no food anywhere around. We had a few snacks and had to ration them out. The next morning we had to bike 20 fairly strenuous miles to get to a tea house. When we got there we cleaned them out. Since then I always make sure we have food for emergencies.

Really enjoying your journal. It brings back so many memories of our past tours in the region. We spent a night in Cuceron ourselves back in the summer of 2003, and the next day watched Lance and the USPS team streak past through a nearby village, back when they were still heroes.

I can’t believe your dinner experience in this hotel! That’s never happened to us. We’d starve if we had to cook our own supper.

If by any chance you are still in Arles on Saturday check out the market. It is really large with a wonderful selection of various local foodstuffs.

Okay, you get bonus points for a great title. Now the bridge from “Maggie May” is running through my head, which is not a bad thing.
