Day 49: Rest day

It rained all day today and I spent much of it reading my book.

We went in to Bundaberg so I could buy some supplies, including yummy macadamia nuts. They are my favourite nuts. So creamy and buttery.

Here are some evening pics:

A face pic of the same green tree frog from yesterday.

Vince McCarthyHis expression is justified as I did have my torch light in his face so I could get a good pic.

He always appears on the same window every night to chase bugs that are attracted by the house lights.

These are cane toads. They are an introduced pest to Australia. They have a horrible impact on native wildlife that eat them and then die from the toxins.

Bill ShaneyfeltBufo (Anaxyrus) marinus are pests all over! Well-meaning folks imported them all around the world thinking they would be great pest control... they got a whole lot more!

I think this is a common house gecko. He's about 15-20cm long. He competes with the green tree frog for bugs.
