Long Beach...you can also see freighter and a cruise ship

Beach volleyball is also a huge activity

The picture wouldn't capture the digital numbers but a cool display. Over 1 million cyclists and pedestrians used the trail this year.

Long Beach is the first time I've seen high rise condos along the beachfront like we see in Florida

The ride started today with several miles on a bike trail through Long Beach. Very busy harbor area with shops, restaurants and many tourists. Also boats everywhere of all kinds. Long Beach is one of the major US shipping ports. Today I passed through many more beach communities heading south of LA. Long Beach, Seal Beach, Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and finished at the campground near Dana Point.

The beachside bike trails were again terrific. Huntington Beach bills itself as Surf City and I can see why. I continue to be amazed at the number of people I see surfing at every beach. Massive industry here.

The weather again was perfect, about 75 and not a cloud in the sky. Only two days to the border!
