Riding on the train they call The Overland: Adelaide to Melbourne

I bought a $149 bought rail ticket for the bike and me to take an 11 hour train ride from Adelaide Parklands Station to Melbourne. The Parklands station is a few kms from Adelaide CBD.

The Southern Rail staff were very helpful and careful putting the loaded bike into the luggage van, and getting it off at the other end in Melbourne at Southern Cross Station.

On arrival in Melbourne I found hotel accommodation near Southern Cross station. The hotel had a secure luggage storage room which accommodated the bike.

Early night and crashed into a deep sleep. My body seems to be recovering from the previous weeks’ riding.

Tomorrow will be a catch up with my son and look at travel options to return to Canberra.

Most likely is a VicRail train to Wodonga, then ride home from there.
