I am a sixty-something Australian with a start-stop-start again cycling touring history which began naively in 1979 with an England to Israel ride. My most memorable cycle tour was from Turkey to England with my wife in 1989.
Recent tours have mostly been in Australia and New Zealand, with the highlights being a Canberra to Perth tour in 2021, and a Gibb River Rd adventure across the amazing Kimberley region of far NW Australia in 2013.
My favourite touring bike brands are Thorn and Bike Friday. I have a few of each.
