OMG! Talk about sticker shock. Wouldn't buy it even if Stearns & Foster personally delivered it. I'll stick to my McRobert's Furniture mattress. Enjoying your journal.

You can't have that kind of buildup and then not state the brand of the mattress. My steel sieve mind will have some sort of seizure.

Jeff Lee replied to a comment by Gregory Garceau on Day Eight: Kosciusko, Mississippi to Raymond, Mississippi

Greg, you will be happy to know that I arrived at mile zero of the Natchez Trace Parkway less than one hour ago, after another pleasant but boring day on it.

What's next? For sure I'm going to cross the Mississippi the day after tomorrow (I'm staying in Natchez tomorrow and not riding), and check out Louisiana, which I've never ridden in.

Fun journal so far, in your usual inimitable style. You're a better man than I am for continuing so far on the Natchez Trace. After a day and a half, I couldn't take the mile after mile of view-blockers. (I feel like I can confide that admission with you, since you too have expressed the sameness of the Trace.)

And I agree with your server--the best iced tea is made in the deep south. Kentucky isn't deep enough.

Osage orange. Careful of the thorns! Wood is very hard. Makes good firewood. Lots of them here in southwest Ohio.

I was recently there at that same spot, but alas not on a bike. Pretty country. I liked the LBL.

These are my favorite kinds of roads…tree lined, smooth and empty of cars.

Why would one want to open a grave?

And shouldn't official authorities be contacted instead a funeral home?

Go figure...

Well, sounds like Day 2 was a whole lot better than Day 1, despite the wind. Here's hoping that trend continues.
