That olive harvesting video wins the prize today.
6 years agoSeveral species of prickly pear cactus are grown as a crop! And have been for quite a while in that region according to what I read

Seems to match giant cane.

It's called Cactusfruit and it's yummy.
6 years agoIs it maybe yellow-crown daisy? Image match is pretty good.

Clever girl.
6 years agoPollarding I believe. Coppicing is more like cutting back low down so you get outward growth.
6 years agoThanks, Chris. Hopefully you don’t think I’m trolling you. It’s Jeff’s fault, really. I think he’s toying with me until I make another donation to the website.
6 years agoVery happy to see the cool desert plant feature spread, keep it up!
6 years agoWow that is a cool desert plant! Haven't seen any with the purple fruits on over here yet!
6 years agoI agree, although it was great just biking by and looking at the statuary outside and the museum itself. His arrwork is so intense that a little goes a long way. It would be great to be here longer and just dip in for a bit multiple times.
6 years agoWhat made me laugh so hard was that when we hit some pavement we got 50 yards of down and then 50 yards that we had to push because it was 20% and when we reached the top we were back into the the gravel and sand. One thing for sure we won’t forget the ride. Thanks for all your great comments. You’re the best and a lot tougher than I am.
6 years agoDali--weird, wild, wonderful, provocative. I'd be tempted to stay an extra day for that museum. And I'm not generally much of a museum guy.
6 years agoWow .. what a day!! I'm very impressed with how you both rose to every challenge. Rachael - I'm especially impressed that you took the route of laughter at the absurdity .. I think I would have been in full ugly-cry meltdown mode.
The first video shows the gnarliness of the road very well .. and love the choice of song to go with it.
So glad you eventually 'got what you needed' with a comfortable place to stay and a good meal. Hope you're able to get some good rest over the next few days.
Ooh, prizes! What do we get?
