Day 131 - Warren

We walked around downtown Warren and visited the Packard Museum.

We learned later that some of the prominent women in the Packard family worked with Upton in the women's suffrage movement.

The Packard brothers founded their automobile manufacturing business in Warren in 1899.  Cars were made here for only four years until the business moved to Detroit in 1903.  Here are just a few highlights from the museum.

This 1937 Packard was displayed with comparisons to the Rolls Royce, its equal in status at that time.

This pink and cream model was built for Howard Hughes, who purchased it as a gift for his future wife, Jean Peters.

After visiting the museum, we meandered along some city trails and through some city parks.  Once back at hotel, we lazed around until we went to dinner.   After dinner, we lazed some more :-) 

It was a very enjoyable day!
