Day 11 - Land Between the Lakes

This dude was very informative. He smelt like he had not showered since 1850. Very authentic!!

Rich McKayApparently it's nature's way of "social distancing".

Today we rode the Land Between the Lakes. It is a National recreation area. Another day with great roads and little traffic. We did some sight seeing along the way.

A view from the road. Granny gear might get some action today. As song by Nancy Sinastra, "These boots are made for walking". Same tune different lyrics. "This road was made for riding, and thats just what will do. One of these days this road might just be ridden by you."

We stopped at this area where they have recreated what life was back in 1850. The folks working there were dressed in period clothing. Really nice old buildings.

Bill ShaneyfeltTo Bill ShaneyfeltAnd if you look closely, you will notice a young poison ivy plant just below the lizard

And also notice the tip of its tail is gone. They lose their tails easily to escape predators, so broken tails are common.
