Wind, Wind and more Wind

Coolgardie to Boondi Rock camp

From dawn to dusk the weather was very windy today. And the wind was a strong headwind. It slowed progress constantly and sapped my energy. Nevertheless the ride was scenic and the traffic much less intimidating than the Norseman to Coolgardie section. Despite the wind, we managed to ride a respectable 83 km.

Dawn farewell to our accommodation The Denver Hotel. It is the last remaining hotel of 28 hotels Coolgardie had in its heyday.

More of the beautiful woodlands. They look especially good at dawn and sunset.

Ominous damage and wreckage. On the road were forensic accident investigation markings.

Another road tragedy memorial. I’ve seen many on this ride.
