Osoyoos to Midway

After Curtis shook my tent at 0600 to wake me up (I must try harder to get him to wake me with a cup of tea) I was on the road by 0720, early enough to avoid the worst heat of the day whilst riding up to The Anarchist Pass, a stretch of road with very little shade.

A chipmunk trying, unsuccessfuly, to share a snack whilst pausing from the climb up todays pass, whilst enjoying a cup of tea.

After only 2 hours 30 minutes in the saddle, the summit sign came into view, a moment I had been looking forward to for a long time, and was not going to let pass in a hurry.

Approaching the sign...

The rest of the day was spent passing through yet more astoundingly scenic countryside to Midway, in time for an early bath and a few beers and some wifi at the Hotel Midway Pub, just across the road from the town's great campsite, probably the best in Canada so far with it's riverside setting, super friendly locals, excellent facilities, and close proximity to the grocery store.

Typical scenery of this afternoon's ride.
