Aylmer to Montebello

After a leisurely start to the day we took a not so leisurely ride, with Jean leading the way and setting a furious pace along a busy, well maintained and twisting bike path to the east end of Gatineau, and providing a great commentary along the way. He then had to turn back, but gave us directions to help us on our way east again.

Jean, our generous host and tour guide.

The remainder of the day's ride was a bit of a blur for me, due to low energy levels, as I had not had my normal half bucket of oats for breakfast. When we finally rolled into the campground at Montebello, we spotted Willem and Corri, a Dutch couple we had met briefly on the road a couple of days earlier, so set up next to them. They were great company, with some fabulous stories of their 6 year around the world sailing trip which ended in New Zealand, where they have now settled.

Ottawa, viered from Quebec.
