Girona

Sights and Sounds of Girona

Over dinner last night we had a team meeting and a unanimous decision was made to spend another night in this beautiful city.

Our day started like this.

We spent the day walking and exploring. First stop was the iconic Eat Sleep Cycle bike shop/cafe. Then it was up and onto the medieval wall. It exceeded expectations and provided great views of the city.

The Hotel Gran Ultonia. Less expensive tonight because the massive bike show ends today.

Get your ducks in a row! We have seen these ducks before and are always amused by them.

We met two special women from Ireland when one asked if we would like her to take our picture. The CN of course, said no. I said an emphatic yes!   We started chatting and Keith and I felt an immediate connection.

Jacqueline and Yvonne. Hope we have that right.

We did the audio guide of the cathedral. It was excellent and gave us a good understanding of what we were seeing.

This tapestry is ancient and was discovered fairly recently.

Then it was a late lunch, gelato and more exploration of the old town. We wandered back to the hotel for a well deserved rest and have spent the evening enjoying tapas and Aperol spritz (me) and a beer (Keith ) on the rooftop terrace. Back on the bikes tomorrow.

Patrick O'HaraWonderful. Thanks for the memories. Wonderful pics! We stayed there in 2018:

We were, of course, inspired by The Anderson's before us to stay there! Love following along.

Kathleen ClassenTo Patrick O'HaraWell damn! They have removed the podium or I would replicate your photo. That’s a disappointment. Still have the tools, pump and the bike wash. I will post photos tonight.
