Rest and Repair Day

After yesterday’s drenching and high exertion ride, we decided to spend today pottering around in Napier doing washing, maintenance and other mundine tasks which didn’t require too much exertion.

We also treadled around town looking at the sights. Napier is an attractive, interesting seaside town famous for its Artdeco architecture.

And we found a very helpful bicycle shop, where we spent an hour or so chatting and doing minor repairs.

Our mini tour today was from the campground to the Napier beachfront and viewing wharf.

Vast quantities of driftwood on the Napier shoreline. Quite a few homeless people have constructed shelters from the wood and appear to be living on the beach.

There’s an excellent network of cycle ways in the Hawkes Bay region.
