Chios Town

From Volissos we worked our way back to Chios town for the next day's departure to Lesvos. We took the long way, circling the north end of the island through Spartounda and Kambia before dropping down the northeast coast. As elsewhere on Chios, this too was a rugged ride through essentially mountainous terrain. And, as elsewhere on Chios, we found it beautiful and great cycling country. We would both love to come back - the island definitely merits another pass through, staying at different destinations and picking up some spots we missed the first time.

Mount Pelineo, the high point on Chios. The island as a whole is beautiful, but quite mountainous and a challenge to cycle.
