From Pagny-sur-Meuse to Houdelincourt: Friday, the 13th
The weather looks bad in the morning. Strong winds, dark clouds, cold. Not encouraging.

As we work out our route on the map we notice that here the 'autoroute', which we can't use as cyclists, seems to have been built on what had previously been country roads connecting the towns. This makes our course in the beginning of the day complicated and round-about.
The day turns out to be better than we expected. Yes, it is cold and windy, but it doesn't rain and we also get beautiful views of rolling countryside. As we intend to make this a short day, we have plenty of time. I notice my legs are tired from the hills of the past few days and I am feeling generally fatigued. A short day is in order.
We get to the little hotel we have chosen around one and are pleased to see they have a restaurant - actually quite a nice little restaurant with a gourmet menu for 80€. They also have pizza which we settle for.
We eat, sleep, write in our journals. By the end of the day the sun is shining.
