Thanks Scott. Sunny Vancouver! There's no place like home, really. Although we love going away, we're also so glad to get home. Going away each year really makes you appreciate where you live. We really enjoyed Slovenia. Oooo...A route from the Fenwick's this fall, you say? Let us know if you have any questions about Slovenia.
8 months agoWelcome back to sunny Vancouver where it almost never rains! Hope you are once again adjusting well to your new time zone changes. Really enjoyed reading about your travels in Slovenia and how you managed the rainy weather and at times difficult routing issues. These challenges are all part of touring and you both tackled them very well. Totally agree with your observation that to avoid busy roads requires that you head up into the hills and as you state, your efforts are always rewarded even if the distance gained is not. Your journal motivates me to organize another tour this fall and just maybe part of Slovenia will be in the route plan. Thanks again.
8 months agoHi Mike, there may have been; but, we've got this technique well practiced! The only thing is that I have to carry the bikes back up the stairs at the departing platform. But, it's not too bad.

2 months agoJohn here again. Just noticed you cycled Slovenia this past year. My wife was born in Ljubljana and has family there. We cycled there in the Spring of 2022. Nice isn’t it.
