Two years ago the Grampies' comment said it all. It's worth returning to this great place!

Good eye Steve! Yes that should have read Oberalp not Oberwald.
Oberwald is a small community at the base of the Furka Pass traveling east to Andermatt. We spend a night there before we went up Furka. These passes are much more accessible now with ebikes. We would like to do more of them but we aren’t getting any younger and who knows when we will get over there again.

This is a great list for putting into Google Maps and trying to figure out where each goes. I guess you mean Oberalp when you write Oberwald. An "alp" is of course an ALP, while a wald is nothing but a forest.

Of these we have only been to Gotthard so the others are mysteries.

We liked it too! Beautiful lines ... one of our favorites.

I like it!

Our government may think it's promoting wood construction (grown in BC!) but there aren't very many wood bridges anymore. And the old ones didn't have such beautiful lines.

It was a great trip indeed. We are so fortunate. You would have had us on the milage count had we not ridden the 12 kilometers from the train station to our hotel near the airport. We had train tickets purchased in Innsbruke but couldn’t pass up the short ride in perfect weather...plus the hassle of jumping on the train for such a short trip.

Thanks Rachael ... it was a great trip! We will be tagging along with you guys for the remainder of your trip. We passed through Brescia last year on our way to Sirmione on Lake Garda. Unfortunately we just breezed through. I figure days should really be at least 36 hours rather than 24 hours for us bike tourers to give us more time to stop and enjoy. Keith

Thank you for your comment Suzanne. Smart people go the other way. Now two years in a row we went the wrong way. You would think we would learn! Needs more time than we spent for sure. Keith
