Thanks, Laura! You just made my day!
3 days agoMark - this is the best yet. I love the brief listing of "Florida Man" incidents! I lived in Georgia for a few years in the late 80's and the news out of Florida always provided comic relief.

3 days agoWhen you eventually do it, I hope you post it here on CycleBlaze like you did your trip last month (I remember reading it, and enjoying it, especially since I've pedaled some of those roads myself).
3 days agoI'm late catching up with your trip but this is an epic day of touring!
I'm enjoying the blog and your ability to bring the days to life.
Welcome back Mark. I missed your journal entries
4 days agoAs avid scuba divers, in addition to being bicycle tourists, this is on our list of experiences even at the exorbitant price.
We chartered a dive boat one year docked next door to the lodge and got to witness the process for them to deliver you dinner to the lodge. It consisted of a fully equipped diver, a large waterproof pelican case, and lots of extra weights to make the case sink.
That's exactly how much I would pay (or maybe 27 cents), but it was a nice touch after renting the cheapest hotel in the area.

4 days agoYou certainly may. I'll get that picture out to you but, of course, you probably already have a lot of pictures of this guy. None of them autographed, though. :-)
Also, that's kind of amazing that you read all of my blogs!
May I be the first to claim that awesome prize you offered to anybody who has read all of your cycling blogs?
5 days agoGood to see that you’re back. I missed you!!

I don't know if you've ever read Carl Hiaasen, but when I was a librarian (at the downtown Houston Public Library) I had the opportunity to hear him speak. He said that when he couldn't figure out a good way to kill off one of his characters he would just read the newspaper. This was before Florida Man, but, of course, there's always been Florida Man even before the meme.
3 days agoThanks for reading!!
