Great video, Rachael! The selfie, the shadow and the goats on tether were awesome!

Red-eared Slider, I should think. Bill?

It will be interesting to see how you are able to organize bicycling from lab to lab, especially in Europe. Between the language barriers, the possible challenges finding a lab that can do the required tests and the problem of requisition that will be accepted in random locations it seems a daunting enterprise. Can the ordering doctor not provide you with paper documents that clearly identify the tests required?

I have been using LabCorp for blood work since my 2010 Widowmaker. I am constantly impressed by the speed and professionalism I encounter. Got blood drawn a couple weeks ago in prep for my annual "inspection." In and out in less than half an hour, and they had posted the results to both my doc. and cardiologist before the day was over. I hope your experience is as good!

I was surprised too. Maybe they have it sometimes but not today? In any case, I’m in it for the long haul. I’m supposed to do this biweekly for the next two years.

Staggering to think a hospital would not be able to perform all blood tests. Hope both of your phlebotomists were excellent. I've had good jabs and bad, wouldn't want to take that risk twice in one day like you.

I find it interesting that certain species of ducks congregate only in one area. Here in Mesa I see mallards everywhere along the canal trails but have only seen a group of ring-necked ducks in one section. Odd.....

You’re right. I will say something about it, maybe after I’ve biked my age in miles.

Nice one Scott. I'm sure I'm not the reader who is curious about how you're managing cycling with essentially one eye? I think this deserves a separate post as I'm curious about the adaptations you are making and your own reflections upon the whole process of keeping up your cycling lifestyle.

Didn't this happen to you last year as well? I recall your fry bread quest being thwarted before.

At least Rachael’s photo suggestion panned out okay! :)

Lighting does not allow clear color designation, but they are likely invasive red eared sliders that were already overwhelming native species when I was at ASU in the late 1960s.

I was going to warn you that Foucault was coming to town, but didn't get to it until the day of the concert. By then it was too late to notify you. But you had it tracked already! Good for you! I like the guy, too. We've also seen him - in The Netherlands - twice!
