Hang it on your wall when the time comes.
2 years agoAs I did. Flattening from a thorn is a sign, for sure. As long as I had it off the rim anyway I replaced it. I’ll swap out the front one before we leave for Italy too, but we might as well keep putting miles on the old one.
2 years agoI forgot about that. We’ve still got the previous one too, which is still persnickety but functional. I’ll try to bring it by so you can see which is the least disfunctional.
2 years agoGives you a better sense of how those big rocks in the bed of the wash got there, doesn't it?
2 years agoI'd still replace that tire. Then again you know my luck.
2 years agoWe still have the old Lumix you gave us a couple years ago. I'll probably take it on the GDMBR to supplement the GoPro shots and for photographs.
2 years agoBoob!
2 years agoLooks good for another 10,000 miles... Ride till you see blue! :-)
2 years agoSeeing those raging rivers in the normally dry washes was amazing!

2 years agoI once had a big nail - bent, to boot - pierce my Schwalbe Marathon tread while on a tour. I only knew it happened because it set up an infernal racket as it banged against the fender stay with each rotation.
Scared the bejabbers out of me. Of course I was on a busy shoulderless road and had to pull off into what turned out to be a thicket of roses (native, so not so prickly). So relieved not to hear that telltale hiss when I pulled it out.
It was amazing! I was very sad I didn’t have my camera with me.
2 years agoThanks, Patrick. More in character would for me to pull the nail out, install a new tube, and wonder why it flattened again.
2 years agoNice catch! Always a good practice to be extra diligent to avoid a re-puncture. Expert stuff!
