2 years agoThat’s why I had Mrs Hornik- to keep me on track! BYW I was never late to work once I had to catch a ferry!
2 years agoAfter reading your account of that “hill”, I decided to position myself so I could do it in the morning before the winds kick up. You did it near the end of a long day with headwinds. I’m a wind weenie as was clear on the two passes to Jackson.
I considered taking the Lewis & Clark trail to the Pacific Coast trail to head home to Washington but your journal refreshed my memory of the wind in the gorge, so I’m devising an alternate route home. Thanks so much to you and Ed. Your journal was very helpful to me as well as enjoyable! Happy trails!
Wow!!!

2 years agoWhen are you getting to Missoula? My brother and his wife live there, but they are heading out tomorrow (Thursday) to meet up with us in Spokane. WA where we start our trip Sunday evening. Their daughter and husband live in Spokane so doing a mini reunion as we have not seen them for 5 years.

Dixon is famous for some of the tastiest watermelons in the U.S. My brother and wife always look for them in local Missoula Farmer's markets, and especially like the yellow fleshed ones.
