Caliper Lake Provincial Park to a spot about 21 miles east of Fort Frances

Today has been a day made special by food. Due to yesterday's heat and lack of progress, we decided to be on the road early, and were on the road at 0630. During one wee stop, Kate found some wild strawberries, fortunately not where she had just been, or so she assures me. We rolled into Fort Frances, after nearly 60 miles, before midday, and were able to stock up on groceries, and use the libraries wifi whilst eating lunch in the shade of the nearby park.

Lilies by the roadside.

What a wonderful bird is the pelican. It's beak can hold more than it's belly can.

A picnic area was marked on the map, but we were unable to find it, so called it a day at a boat launching spot, which was ideal for a swim, and had some wild blueberries growing at it.

Egg, chips, beans and onion rings.

I'd been carrying around the remainder of a heavy bag of potatoes, so we used them up tonight, having egg, chips, beans and onion rings - one of the most memorable meals I have ever had whilst camping. In preperation for another early start I was in bed just after 8.

Lakeside wild camping spot.
