Another Tally Gal Arrives!

Exploring the Altstadt

Today the fifth Tally Gal arrived after a LONG trip from the US. We also explored the old town some more as well as the Hofburg gardens, sampled some Apple strudel and sampled some more gelato. Then we met the tour company representative and picked up our e-bikes for the next bike tour.

Along the river there is a bike and pedestrian path and in that park there are three ping pong tables that were almost always in use, how cool!

Today as part of the festivities in the old town a band played  and women in Dirndls handed out tastes of Schnapps. Oooh! Goodness, it burned all of the way down! One of the women had a small wooden keg with a spigot that she used to pour the schnapps into a tiny pewter goblet.

greta combsI'd love to own one of these dirndls. But they probably don't make them in my size! My son has a pair of lederhosen like the one here on the right and it is made of genuine leather.

This evening we picked up the bikes we will be riding for this next bike tour. We tried them out and made any necessary adjustments to the seats etc. We all have bright shiny red bikes, hope they ride as nice as they look….  We also had an information session with a representative from the bike tour company to help us get started on the right track.

greta combsMy son is a rock climber and loves climbing in the Dolomites. Are the Austrian alps as tall as the Swiss Alps?

Jane FletcherAccording to google the Dolomites are around 3,000 meters which is about the height of the mountain we went up in Switzerland
