Castles, Rivers and Relatives

Woke at 5:00 am to be ready to jump off the train at 5:18. Our bikes got moved in the middle of the night and were waiting for us 3 train cars back. Got the gps going and headed out for our hotel, the Hotel Wilder Mann. At breakfast we met relatives and throughout the day they eased our transition into a German speaking country. We explored Passau visiting St Stephan’s Cathedral, interesting streets and alleys, the walking paths along the river, and the veste Oberhaus. Fabulous views of Passau.

Our room has furniture from the Neues Palais Castle in Potsdam. The furniture is marked with the princes crest.

St Stephan’s cathedral it is massive and very ornate and beautiful inside. No photos allowed, darn.

The Veste Oberhausen. Luckily we took a bus up to the castle. Parts of the castle date back to the 800s.
