Bozeman to Cardwell
As with the beginning of my journey, this day began with an excellent tail wind that propelled me on a zigzagging course through downtown Bozeman and the western outskirts. Once beyond the city, the landscape opened to lush fields of grains and other crops - verdant due to exceptional rain in recent weeks.

Cheryl met me for lunch in Three Forks, then I headed southwest along Routes 2/287 toward Cardwell where we would camp for the night. The roads were mostly good with reasonable shoulders and most drivers were courteous.

We camped for the night at the Cardwell General Store and Campground, which was nice, with clean restrooms, although I-90 was a bit noisy through the night.
