The Bikes
We purchased two Koga bikes from De Vakantiefietster (Dutch for "The Holiday Bicyclist") some months ago. This specialist bike shop has only bikes for touring, including Santos, Koga, and a few others - mostly Dutch bikes. The bikes we bought are solid - about 40 lb - and do not have a chain or derailleur but rather are belt drive. The 14 gears are held inside the rear hub (called a Rohloff hub). The front hub contains a dynamo which powers your lights front and back. The bikes come ready with racks installed and can be configured on the Koga website when you order. These models are the Koga World Traveler Signature bikes.
