Down the Baltoro Glacier we can now see the Gasherbrum mountains. The main one in front from this side is G4, just to the right you can see the summit of G2 with 8,035 meters the 13th highest mountain. Behind that barely is G1, the highest peak of Gasherbrum group with 8,080 meterse the 11th highest mountain. Gasherbrum 1 is also known as Hidden Peak.

The mules lose their shoes in the loose rock. We have picked up at least half a dozen to take home as souvenirs, and probably saw a couple of dozen more. The mule wranglers have a healthy respect for their biting and kicking mules, but have a way to nail on some new shoes in Urdukas.
