Them Thar Hills

Varina to Ruther Glen

Out the door by 8am this morning in the nice cool air. Back on the Virginia Capitol Trail. It meanders an extra three miles through some gorgeous greenway. You can head straight down the highway but the path is much prettier.

Such stately homes in Virginia. You really feel the history here.

Coming into Richmond. Apparently the South part of town used to be the poor part but they are in the midst of bringing it up to speed. Construction was evident all along the path. Lots of condos!

Railroad bridge.

A train was up on the tracks here making a racket as we rode into town.

The Canal Path

A whole wall of graffiti. Step got this gal from it.

So many interesting buildings in town.

We were on bikeroute 1, route 76 and the Greenway all day today.

Another train

Yet another train running right down the middle of the main street in this town.

Lots of horses.

Isn't he handsome?

Beautfiul all day and it never got hot like it was supposed to! We climbed 1800 feet! We are in hill country now!

Home for tonight!
