Now in Christchurch

For the past few days we have been in Christchurch touring about, as per the photos.  This is my 3rd time here since th earthquake in 2011 and the city is almost back together.  They are still working on the cathedral and there are a few more buildings to come down but the change is remarkable.  On our tram ride we learned about all of the engineering changes to make the buildings more earthquake resistant.

Tomorrow I start the cycle tour.

Capt Cook who was here in the 1700s.

A beautiful stained glass window in the great hall of Art Centre. The figures in the glass are important people in history such as Darwin, Wellington and Florence Nightingale.

Deb HunterI've finally caught up with your blog. Whew! This has been quite the adventure. I'm glad you've all weathered the storm, so to speak, and are able to experience some unique cycling. The pics and commentary are as always outstanding.

Looking forward to your photos on the ride as it appears you will be in many of the same places we toured together.
Have fun and be safe.
