A wild few days - Triple Trails NZ - CycleBlaze

A wild few days

It has been a wild few days here in Hawkes Bay as we were hit by Cyclone Gabrielle.  The rain and winds were unbelievable and it lead to lots of flooding, power and cell phone up outages and lots of downed trees. The golf course is under water so no golf today but I did get in 2 short rides with each of my brothers on the trails because they are high, and dry on a dyke.  Many of the roads leading in and out of this region are closed including state highways and a national state of emergency has been called.  Also unfortunately one of the really fun events in this area is the Art Deco festival and it has been cancelled.

We are located right under the red spot on the map.

This speed line is along a road near a parking lot on the river. It was clearly flooded leaving an Apple crate stuck to the post.
