We started off climbing this morning, and as usual it was a bit cold in the early hours.

We eventually reached the summit of Blue Mesa just as the morning was starting to warm up a bit.

Shortly after the summit we encountered a section of ongoing roadwork and had to wait a bit till they let us pass.  The road had been torn apart and was very rough as we descended for a couple of miles - the roughness limited our descent speed to 10 mph or so.

Other than the road construction, the day's ride was very pleasant.  A solar eclipse happened on this day as were riding near Blue Mesa reservoir.

We met Steven Bryant, who is walking across America.  Traveling by bicycle seems fast in comparison to walking.

We checked into the Holiday Inn Express and will enjoy the nice accommodations for 2 nights as we take our final rest day.  Dinner consisted of a meal at a nice local brewery.  All is well here, I can only hope life is as good for you.  Good night all, I'm going to enjoy a rest day tomorrow, I hope you can also find some time for rest.

Today's ride: 43 miles (69 km)
Total: 1,431 miles (2,303 km)
