Day 5: In Annecy
A day off our bikes
When I went to report the loss of my wallet, the police station wasn't open. Their website said they would be open 24/7, but when I explained what I wanted on the intercom outside the entry, they didn't let me in. I should come back on Monday. Unfortunately I didn't ask what time and we are planning on cycling to Chambéry tomorrow. So I'll try again early Monday morning before we leave.
The weather is beautiful on this Sunday morning and we join the throngs on our walk through the old town of Annecy. I think for the most part I'll dispense with captions under my pictures. You don't really want to know the names of all the sights, do you?

After the leisurely walk, we spent some down time in our room, went out for a bite for lunch, and then relaxed in our room some more, working on journals, pictures and videos. In the evening we met our friends for another enjoyable dinner together. All in all a good, low key day.
And now for Janos's video...
Then came the exciting part of the day, but exciting in a good way. I decided to have one more last look around the room for the lost wallet. I got down on my hands and knees and looked under the bed again. Ah, I see a glint of something. I reach far under the bed and pull out my wallet. The zipper had caught the light making it just barely visible. I don't know how the heck it got there but are we ever happy! I wish I had found it a day earlier of ccourse, because I now have deactivated my credit cards. But I got the cash and id card back and new credit cards will be in the mail when I get home.
