Pyrenees: the grand finale

Day 30 - Quillan to Perpignan

What a day! It was long, it was hard. The wind was ferocious and often in our faces. Now and then, crawling up a hill with the wind doing it's best to push us back down, we got disheartened.

But, despite this, it was a great day! The landscape made it the most memorable in a while. We finally got to see some Pyrenees up close, followed railways and rivers through miles of vineyards, passed dozens of enormous, magnificent wind turbines, climbed through weird rocky valleys, and after another nightmarish twisting and turning route, finally made it to Perpignan.

Quillan was nice.

The trees indicate the strength and direction of the wind...
