Parit Burtar, David's place: Fish markets galore

David has to work this morning so we get some rest, but already at 10am he is back to take us on more sightseeing.

We visit several seafood related places, leaving each place with a bag full of goodies. First, a mussel place where they steam and shell them, then a clam place where the clams come off the boat and are sorted for size. Then a prawn farm, the first stop for many of the fishing boats to drop off the largest prawns of their catch. They are kept alive so they can harvest the eggs that are hatched here and then transferred to farms and raised. The large prawns are kept alive for a bit longer and shipped to restaurants in Hong Kong. We get some large king prawns, David calls the big boss, who then sends his son to give us some huge tiger prawns that go for $30 a kg.

What a catch! We'll have a feast tomorrow.

In the evening we go to the night market in Parit Burtar but it pours rain. We buy some food and return home to eat it.
