A silly comment about spelling

Rachel and Patrick Hugens

I just completed transcribing two paper journals to cycleblaze, one from 1999-2000 the other from 2006-07. A total of about 600 pages, and on every single page that I had written restaurant....I had misspelled it... every...single....time.

And if not for autocorrect, would still be misspelling the word.

Thanks for listening, just had to get it out there.

Wow, Cycleblaze hosts enough typos that it's a famous peddling site.

Then there is the problem of "foreigners" misspelling words on purpose.

Example:

Color, Tire - Correct Spelling

Colour, Tyre - Incorrect Spelling

It's a problem!

Hi Karen,

Yes, Patrick is Dutch, and in transcribing the 1999-2000 journal it was interesting to see his spelling of many words, where in Dutch were double letters, and in English he did single letters where we had double letters.

The problem in Dutch is that the words in a different order are. If you a subordinate clause write, must the second verb at the end be. And if it cold is must you hand shoes wear.
