Thanks, Susan.  That's helpful.  There are so many options in RWGPS that sometimes it's hard to find what you need!  It does add to the number of steps needed to make a multi segment map, but I'll give it a try.

Susan - it isn’t paranoia - you are doing a wise thing in order to preserve your journals.  Be aware that things you post here are seen by the owner of that other site - he reads this forum.
