I believe the beautiful desert sings,

In the vicinity of Borrego Springs.

The awesome views

Are all the news

They’re the views of desert kings.

On dropping to Borrego Springs from Yaqui Pass:

Dropping to Borrego Springs. At the far left you can see the orange groves out by Coyote Canyon.

I believe the beautiful desert sings,

In the vicinity of Borrego Springs.

The awesome views

Are all the news

They’re the views of desert kings.

From Fonts Point, overlooking the Borrego Badlands:

Great socks!

A man in his yellow-striped socks
Rhewind blowing his wild, untamed locks
He smiles 'fore the view
His socks hiding his shoe
While his buttocks rest on the rocks.

From our lunch break in Joshua Tree National Monument:

How do we like the Cottonwood Springs Visitor Center? Mum’s the word.

“Mum's the word!", Rachael said.

So long as this mask's on my head.
She may try to speak
Through face cover so chic
But she sounds like her mouth's full of bread!

On driving across the Mojave Desert, near Amboy:

The view to the northeast across the basin south of Amboy.

You may ask if I'm enjoying Amboy,

I will gladly reply, "yes I am, boy.

The best kind of psalms,

Praise Twenty-Nine Palms,

Otherwise I don't give a damn, boy.

Poetic documentation is clever to be sure / and up until this post thought them quite obscure / It's a technic I used / and hopefully didn't abuse / to keep things interesting during my 2019 Downeast tour

On climbing Utah Hill:

Rocky looks like she could hang with this crew.

Rocky comes up over the top of the rise

And what does she see but a bunch of guys.

Each one is young and fit,

Looking fine in cycling kit,

Hubby better not let her escape his eyes.

—————————

(Just kidding! You have nothing to worry about.

Those guys are just a downgrade from you, no doubt.

Please don't put this on the Poet's Corner, I beg,

Lest everyone aims their scorn at poor Greg.)

From a hike In Arches National Park on the Devils Garden Primitive Trail:

A lot of the eastern half of the Primitive Trail is like this - a safe sandy path threading between ghoulish sculptures.

Sculptures that seem oh so ghoulish

Magnificent! Better than cool-ish!

On the Primitive Trail

We eat ham and kale

And the dropoffs make us feel a bit drool-ish.
