That guy is a nut case and an extremely misogynistic asshole. Sooner or later everyone who blogs on his site figures this out. Glad you got away.

None, all I did was change it back to visible. It was invisible back when I was 100% sure he was responsible for some real world nastiness that happened to me. Almost two years out, I currently choose to believe that it is a mystery wrapped inside an enigma and possibly not him.

I also marked it as a "minor update".

What new material have you added to your original post?

Hi Marian, no idea how these message/comments thingoes work but I have a couple of Hainan related questions I'd love to ask if that's at all possible. Arriving on Sat this week so not exactly awesome timing. My partner and I are hoping to cycle and camp most of the time but bloody hell it's hard to get unconflicting information. No idea how to leave contact details but have WeChat if that's any help.
Thanks!

It's actually gotten to the point where I rarely get into hotel disagreements and, if I do, once I let them know that I *know* how to register myself and can do it for them, things are resolved with nearly no fuss.

This past trip, particularly while in Ningxia and Gansu, I got to the point where I was starting my evenings out with a visit to the local police station so I could threaten them and bully them until I was kicked far enough up the chain that someone admitted I could be registered.

Marian, that is a great read and you are a real hoot! I wouldn't be in the least surprised if they don't have posters of you in all of the hotels across China with a note to not mess with you and just give you a room.

The majority of my interactions with Chinese people are pleasant. Otherwise, as you mention, why would I want to live here.

Hilarious.
I assume you must have pleasant interactions with Chinese people sometimes, otherwise I can't see why you'd want to live there.

Stuff like this really toes the line into actual mental illness above and beyond the depression and other stuff that he no longer talks about (like his guns). Unfortunately, you can't make any kind of suggestion of any type to him without being yelled at or banned.

I fear you're right, Bob. I'm concerned about him.

Dude, he’ll never calm down. He wants to talk politics and the only way to do that is to manufacture drama. Eventually it will come down to the ‘libtards’ and the thread will die down. Until the next one pops up.

Just when I thought that he had calmed down!

I still have plans to go visit them. While waiting for them to open I tried various things to keep myself awake and in the process managed to find an already open bike shop who, as much to their surprise as my own, found a possibly secondhand 700c 36 hole rim of uncertain origin on their second floor. They __gave__ me the rim and rebuilt my wheel for the cost of labor only!

Can't beat 100,000 dong for a rebuilt wheel.
