Well, you're still just a young thing. When you are really an old man may be the time.

I think I would have gotten even more gratification if some of that sloshing liquid had exploded out of the tanks and into the cab of their trucks.

Thank you for the compliment. I have done a few tours of four or five weeks, and it was hard work keeping up a journal. I don't think I could do it for months like you guys do, but I'd sure like to try. Unfortunately, due to family obligations, such trips are not in the cards for me at this time.

For sure, I won't make that mistake again--even if it is only for two days.

I went back and read your account of that day, and it sure did look like an enjoyable day and night. Then I read some more of the U.P. section of your journal. You guys definitely rode a lot of miles each day. Very impressive. The Marquette area really is beautiful area. I don't think I appreciated it as much in my college days as I do now.

Pretty sure the septic tank dudes only heard a slush shosh instead of your sound of waterfalls. Isn’t that gratifying, at least?

What a bunch of cheeky young women to block your view!

You sure managed to get a well written and interesting blog out of a short trip. Just think what you could do with a few weeks, or even, gulp, a few months.

You went to college in a beautiful spot. We went through Marquette on our 2015 Cross Canada tour and had one of our best nights camping of the whole trip at the Munising Tourist Park campground. Very fond memories of that whole day.

Next time, a power bank to charge the dumbfone?

Good trip even if a bit short.

I'm not a recluse or anything, but I really am not very outgoing--at least with strangers. I think I'm a little better than I used to be, though. I might add that if somebody approaches me first, I'm just fine with engaging in a short conversation.

True. I've always loved campsites by a lake or river. The presence of water gives my eyes pleasure and my mind a sense of calm.
