Straight, flat and no shoulder. Hopefully light courteous traffic.

Lovely to include plants (instead of all grass) around the benches!

Perhaps not that impressive, given that most municipalities in Illinois are defined as "cities" or "villages: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cortland,_Illinois

I am impressed with your noon mileages this trip - almost all of them in double digits, and most north of 20. Chapeau!

Today’s rail trails seemed pretty adventurous. Who woulda thought in that part of the state it would feel remote.

Not likely.
I have worked with Troop 71 Beavercreek, OH since the early 2000s and it is in a different Council from Dayton. I basically am a merit badge counselor for our troop anyway. Things like cycling, backpacking, woodcarving and nature. I live on the east edge of Dayton near Beavercreek city limits and have no idea where even one of the Dayton troops might meet.

When I was in Savanna, IL in the early to mid 80s I was not involved with other troops at all. That Diamond Jubilee Jamboree in Galena is the only Scouting Jamboree I have ever been to. I do still have a cheapo bronze cast belt buckle souvenir from it though.

Perhaps you can document this photo to Wald for a replacement or payment. They are a reputable company.

I will bet you knew my cousin’s husband who led the Boy Scout troop from Dayton to the jamboree!
