Thanks, Nancy! At least I can read comments and write, it's just the pictures I can't upload, and not even look at. :(

It's on our itinerary - just 6 or 7 km from where we are staying.

Having just come from a camping outing with slow to no Wifi, I totally understand about completing your journal after you return home. Your stories so far have entertained me, and of course I love your photos.

Hi,
If you do decide to go to Eguisheim and visit Gruss, please say hello to Andre and Nina for us. Wonderful people who speak English, French, and German. Thanks.
Cheers,
Keith

It has been really hot, up in the 90's. We are glad we have a home base and can get back indoors for the afternoon and don't have to wait for check-in somewhere. I find the heat very tiring. I am ok riding (thanks to e-support) but feel exhausted when we get back. Which is ok because I can take a nap. We didn't know it when planning the trip, but staying in each place for several days has been perfect for coping with the heat.

That’s great. I wonder what those hanging tatters are.

The usual annoying trick is to have the plug by the bed controlled by the switch at the entrance. That way, with a lamp plugged in by the bed, the visitor is greeted by a lighted lamp when they enter the room and flip the switch. This is common for when rooms also annoyingly have no overhead lighting. Then there is the stunt where nothing in the room works unless you place a key card in a slot by the door. The thinking is that if you leave the room, taking your key card, everything should be off. Such thinkers grew up before everything needed to be charging, whether you were in the room or not.

Part of today' culture in France too, I guess.
