It was lovely getting together with the two of you yesterday. I hope we’ll have a chance to do it again sometime. I will look forward to reading about your next trip to Europe, with undoubtedly more outstanding photos. I hope you’ll have many “stupidity-free days” although as we said yesterday, those are sometimes the most interesting days.
2 years agoWhat a neat thing! We'll be looking forward to seeing that when we're in Tucson in May.
2 years agoSuperb!
2 years agoWhen I have my first stupidity-free day, a great celebration will ensue.
2 years agoWhat is this thing of which you speak, “stupidity-free day”? Not known in ancient or contemporary human chronicles.
2 years agoYup. Ibuprofen and beer make a fine time-tested therapy though. Everything seems in working order the day after.
2 years agoPretty hard on the knees. Just saying.
2 years agoSo glad you are okay and you could solve the refill issue in a timely manner.
I can’t remember if I blogged a PSA about Keith’s antibiotics in Spain in the fall. I was pleasantly surprised when I handed the pharmacist the prescription and she turned around, opened a drawer and handed me the goods. So fast, unlike at home. Instructions from her echoed the dentist: 3 times a day for 7 days. It wasn’t until Keith developed an alarming rash that we realized that while he needed 21 pills, I was handed a box of 30. The box was clearly marked, it just never occurred to us there would be more medication than he needed as that couldn’t happen in Canada. Keith had just finished 9 days of a 7 day course of antibiotics when he woke up with the nasty rash. We didn’t figure it out right away, although we knew the rash had to be associated with the antibiotics. It wasn’t until he said that it seemed like more than 7 days that the penny dropped. We learned a big lesson for the hundredth time. Never assume!
Not one of her colors. Come to think of it, I can’t think of any red outfit she wears.
2 years agoWhat? No red pyjamas?
2 years agoAl and I have been together almost 35 years and I can't recall him being outside without a hat (or helmet) unless he's about to swim. He and his brothers started thinning on top in their 20s so they've had lots of time to learn.
2 years agoGlowing Saguaros!
2 years agoI read somewhere that there are over 470 species of lichens in AZ...
In this photo alone I see at least 9, maybe more... Every time I look at lichen encrusted rocks, I'm amazed at how many there are, and the variety of colors too. A few black, lots of different grays, some brown, some chartreuse, and orange... I take lots of photos of them too.
Looks like there are over 40 species of ferns in that area!
Might be wavy scaly cloak fern.

And who knew there were over 80 species of moss!!
Might be spike moss

It looks a bit darker and slightly larger. I said Mockingbird before reading the caption, so slowly I am learning some species recognition. Steve asks if you took the shot with "his" camera. Are you back to Portland now for a quick sojourn? Dodie
