Day 4: Littleton to Montpelier

A day that started cool and flat and ended hot and hilly.  Bill joined me for the rail trail from Littleton to Woodsville.  Then I crossed over into Vermont and rode Rte 302 to Barre.  The first ten miles were wonderful, with wide shoulders and reasonable grades.  Then things got really ugly - two long steep hills with narrow shoulders. I pushed on through the heat, over the top of the hills, and eventually a long downhill run into Montpelier. I’m staying with friends Larry and Kate tonight.

Thanks, Gardner and Pat for a great night in Littleton!

Catherine ShradyHey, Bob! Looks like you've made a good start! Of course this is the hottest May on record, but the forecast is for cooler temperatures next week. Looking forward to seeing you in a few days!
