Trois-Rivieres to Champlain

We really enjoyed our stay in Trois Rivieres. It was nice to stay right downtown and enjoy the excitement of the city on a Saturday night.

Last night this street was closed to traffic and was busy with people out for a summer walk or going out for dinner or to a club

People are really curious about our bike and where we are from. We have had many wonderful experiences with local people because of our bike

We got a late start out of Trois-Rivieres...Sunday buffet and a hot tub and swim. It was a very hot and humid day. As were we leaving Trois-Rivieres we saw someone riding a recumbent bike. He stôpped in his tracks when he saw our bike. It was wonderful to spend time talking with someone who shared our passion for recumbent bikes. Reg rode a low-racer style bike called The Stinger. It was made in Germany. 20 inch front wheel and 26 inch back wheel.

We only rode for 30 km until we came across a campground at Champlain. It was a beautiful village-founded in the early 1600 century. The campground was right on the St. Lawrence River. The river is a busy water way. Huge frieghters loaded with containers were passing us as we sat and watched.

Like so many things in Quebec - the language changes what is familiar to us at home - PFK (KFC) .
