Bikes are boxed and bags are packed. The plan - to spend 2 months cycling from Copenhagen to Venice via the Elbe and the Danube along with parts of Czechia, Hungary and Slovenia. Auckland winter sun will, we hope be replaced by Copenhagen summer sun in a few days time.
Our bikes have had the once over- Ann’s tubeless tyres refilled with fluid and my Kona’s spoke fixed. They are still in pretty good repair after last year’s 4 month effort. Our tent has been waterproofed and camping equipment checked.
Weight, as ever, is a consideration- heavy bike locks are out and every article of clothing and footwear carefully assessed for its multi purpose function. Time to go!
