Taranto - Wandering in Puglia - CycleBlaze

Taranto

Accommodation - Casa SantAgostino. Good location, beds where you can feel the wires connecting the mattress springs. Classic you get what you pay for.

The day was for the archaeology museum, the Castello Aragonese, and seafood. The museum required booking at a chosen time, with a two hour stay. You had to move from one section to another to maintain the flow of groups. It was primarily school groups when we went in.  For the castle you have to call a number for the Italian Navy office as it is an active naval facility.  Interesting structure. Our tour was in Italian, but a man who wanted to practice his English did his best to translate for us.

Ended our day with an amazing meal at La Paranza.

Some interesting faces.

There are some big mosaics on display. This one was the most impressive.

A snack of friselle in the afternoon. Tomatoes and melanzana in olive oil. So, so good. If you are in the neighborhood, it’s Bar Falanta.

In the small stone rooms, I don’t know how you could fire this and not have your eardrums rupture.

I wish I had a real camera for this.

One of our starters at La Paranza. The other was a bowl of mussels.
