Day 1 - A shake out ride

Today we finally got on our bikes with a 66km 2400ft shake out ride to the SE of Vaison la Romaine.  This will be the flattest ride of the trip.  The pace was very slow for the first half for people to get used to the roads and the French drivers.  After coffee we increased the pace and also tackled a few hills to wake up the climbing legs.  It was cool to start but it warmed up and became a little breezy.  The group was too big for my liking so I tomorrow it will definitely be smaller even if I am on my own.  All in all it was a good day on the bike.

Gail in the bike garage this morning before we left fo the ride.
